Basically, as well as obviously fixing the health issues with my teeth, I’m also trying to make their appearance look better, as we all try and aspire to do. So I was wondering if dentists ever file down your teeth a little? I’m not talking about anything drastic, just a little bit here and there to make their appearance a little more flawless, like do celebrities do that? Or are the perfect teeth they are constantly showcasing to us just veneers?

Also, I have a chip in my teeth at the front, its between my front two teeth.. its something that has really effected me my entire life and my self esteem big time, but regardless of how much it upset me, I was told by my dentist it wasnt possible to rectify until I was 18 because my teeth werent done growing. So now that I am 18, i’m FINALLY going to get it fixed.. but i’m just wondering how they are going to do that? because as the chip is on both teeth, I can’t really see how they would do that with a filling or something. So how would they do it?

Also, I’m going to have a pretty intense procedure done on my teeth besides the above, I was wondering is it common to be prescribed tranquilizers for these kinds of things (like root canal) I know someone who has in the not too distant past, but is it common or uncommon?

I went to the dentist today and he said to do nothing about it because basically u can’t get one veneer. There is this craze line in one of my two front teeth that I can see when I look in a mirror up close or basically from a arms length away. Any further than that I can’t really c it. It bothers me so much and I am afraid it is going to truely crack and I am basically forced to live with it. I think about it all the time, that I have a crack in my front tooth and how ugly it is to me. Does anyone have one of these craze lines that are as young as me, 23 years old? Seriously I can’t find a pic or anything and it makes me feel like I am alone and ugly!
